I’m now a NY Times bestselling editor / author

Long time, no blog. But today I’m coming to you with some great news.

One of the projects I’ve had the privilege of editing is the YA graphic novel Snowlands: A Blood Moon. It was a much deeper collaboration than a typical project, and over the course of several Friday afternoon writing sessions, I worked closely with creator Morr Meroz to draft the script. Originally intended for indie sale, Morr had loftier goals and he was able to secure a publishing deal with Scholastic. Which is amazing in and of itself.

Scholastic apparently saw what I did from the start and did a major marketing push, including displays in Barnes & Noble. And it paid off—big time.

Earlier this month, Snowlands: A Blood Moon debuted at #5 on The New York Times graphic novel bestseller list. And as my role was changed to writer of the adaptation script with the switch to Scholastic, my name was called out in the NYT listing. Which is majorly cool.

But as cool as that is, I’m much more proud of what Morr and artist Collin Fogel have achieved. And I’m thrilled and honored to be a part of this series as it continues; in fact, earlier this month, I completed the script to Book 2, which is due to come out later this year.

Snowlands: A Blood Moon can be purchased at Barnes & Noble and other sellers of books and graphic novels. And if you’d like me to be your editorial partner on a graphic novel, feel free to reach out via my contact page.
